Rural & Northern Education Funding

As part of its Plan to Strengthen Rural and Northern Education, the Ministry of Education’s announcement on 28 June 2017 identified a Rural and Northern Education supplement to enhancement the Grants for Student Needs (GSN).

For 2022-2023 the WCDSB received $92340.00 . Each board must report publicly on how these funds will be used as well as which schools are recipients of RNEF support.

WCDSB schools qualified for this funding included:

  • St. Clements CES
  • St. Brigid
  • St. Boniface

WCDSB purchased 240 Chromebooks split between these 3 schools evenly.
