Administrative Assistant, Human Resources I – Temporary Assignment (18 months commencing approximately November 2018)
Reporting to the Human Resource Services Officer accountable for Teaching Staff, the incumbent will be responsible for the following:
- Responsible for assisting in the processing of collective agreements, HR information maintenance, and staffing for teaching staff as instructed by the Human Resource Services Officer;
- Assist, monitor and maintain the posting process under Regulation 274;
- Collaborate with the academic team in managing the supply teachers through the attendance and dispatch program, Smartfind;
- Respond to inquiries and requests for leaves identified in the collective agreement;
- Maintain databases and electronic files and preparation of correspondence;
- Carry out ad hoc research projects as assigned;
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position;
- Other duties as assigned.
Two-year College level diploma in Human Resource Administration, Business/Secretarial or equivalency of Human Resource Certificate with related experience or experience in a related field;
Superior organizational skills;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs and relational databases;
Knowledge of the principles of human resource practices and administration;
Working knowledge of relevant legislation, the Employment Standards Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Human Rights Code;
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal);
Demonstrated problem solving skills and analytical thinking and customer service commitment;
Salary Level At: PASS Level 1, $49,155 pursuant to the PASS Terms of Employment
Hours of Work: Full time, 35 hours/week Monday – Friday
