General Description of Duties

Reporting to the Manager of Information Services, the successful applicant will be responsible for providing technical support for computer networks and software applications throughout our schools. Specific duties include the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of applications within a NetWare (4.11), Windows 95/NT, and Netscape environment. End user support for a broad range of classroom software including multimedia and Internet applications. Installation of file servers, workstations, and associate file, print, and security services must be performed according to Board standards.


A college degree or diploma in computer science/information technology, or equivalent, and between two (2) to three (3) years experience with standalone and network hardware and software in a NetWare 4.11 environment. Must be fully conversant with system level configurations of PCs including hardware components, peripherals, drivers for DOS and Windows, Word Processors, Databases, Spreadsheets, and multimedia applications. Familiarity with Novell Netware management, Windows 95/NT network management and topologies, Internet protocols, and connectivity. Applicant must be physically capable of moving computer equipment and must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a motor vehicle for traveling throughout the Board.
