Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Manager of Technical Support Services, the successful candidate will design, implement, manage and support the Board’s administrative Microsoft server environment and applications, which facilitate a wide variety of business pursuits. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the coordination and consistency of Board technology standards to maximize the investment in technology by the Board.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, manage and support the Board’s administrative server and network environment
  • Provide consulting service and recommend direction to administrative computer users in PC related initiatives, computing methods & procedures in their work environment
  • Install and maintain central network communications, server equipment, system security and connectivity software
  • Implement and monitor controls to mitigate potential security risks to users, systems, and data
  • Investigate and resolve technical problems with server hardware, software and networks
  • Investigate and analyze software upgrades and coordinate relevant implementations
  • Establish procedures and safeguards to ensure the integrity of Board data, including disaster recovery, security incidents, and hardware or software failures
  • Coordinate, deploy, and monitor servers patching
  • Monitor and analyze network performance and make adjustments as required to maximize performance
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: 

  • A three-year college degree or diploma in computer science/information technology or equivalent.
  • Five years of experience providing hardware and software support in a networked computing environment.
  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, PowerShell and scripting, Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud services, Microsoft Exchange, VMWare, Hyper-V, and VEEAM Backup.
  • Working experience with Fortinet security appliances such as FortiGate and FortiManager is a strong asset.
  • Field experience with local and wide area networking and telecommunications.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills.
  • Superior problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs; a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required.
  • Must be available for on call 24/7 and for weekend system maintenance, system failure, system updates, and security events.
  • School Board experience is an asset.

 

 

Salary Level or Salary Range Starting At PASS Level 6, $70,679 – 83,153 per year in accordance with  the PASS Terms of Employement

Hours of Work: Permanent full time: 35 hours per week / 52 weeks per year

General Description of Duties:

As a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) you will be available for daily occasional, long term and permanent assignments. The responsibilities of the position include collaborating with the classroom teacher to plan and implement the Early Learning Kindergarten program within a classroom setting and/or taking the lead in implementing age appropriate learning for groups of students as part of the Extended Day Program.

 

The RECE will deliver faith-based Early Learning Programs in an environment that enhances children’s cognitive, physical, social, spiritual and emotional development.

  1. Roman Catholic Baptismal Certificate; (Please note: in order to be considered for permanent assignments, a Catholic Pastoral Reference form is also required. In the event you do not provide a Catholic Pastoral Reference you would be considered for Supply or Long-Term Occasional Assignments.)
  2. A complete Declaration of Commitment
  3. A two-year community college Early Childhood Education Diploma with experience in a childcare or educational setting

  5. Knowledge of Ministry of Education full day early learning kindergarten program
  6. Experience in planning and implementing age appropriate programs
  7. Knowledge of related legislation and pertinent Board policies and directives such as, but not limited to Administration of Medication and/or Special Services
  8. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and move/carry equipment for program; and must be able to physically assist children as required (e.g. lifting)
  9. Basic computer competency

 

Required Skills:

  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with children, parents, staff and the general public
  • Proven ability to follow organizational policies and procedures in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Demonstrate knowledge of classroom management

 

Desirable Assets:

  • One year experience as an ECE in a childcare centre and Early Learning Program is preferred however new graduates or current ECE students on track to graduate this spring are welcome to apply
  • Current certificate in First Aid and CPR

 

Responsibilities for Both Core and Extended day program:

  1. Partner with the classroom teacher and other designated staff to plan and implement the Early Learning Kindergarten and Extended Day Program(s) through developmentally appropriate curriculum-based activities
  2. Collaborate with the classroom teacher and other designated staff to support individual student’s identified needs, strengths, interests and stages of development
  3. Observe, monitor and assess the development of pupils in Kindergarten and/or Extended Day Program
  4. Collaborate with the classroom teacher and special education teacher to carry out specialized activities to support learning for children requiring an Individual Education Plan (IEP)
  5. Collaborate with extended day team to implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum based on the Extended Day Program expectations
  6. Maintain a healthy, physical, emotional and social learning context for students
  7. Provide a variety of experiences to strengthen pro-social skills such as sharing, problem solving and cooperation
  8. Provide guidance in washroom routines, dressing and lunchtime activities
  9. Maintain appropriate records for students (e.g. health, attendance, etc.) respecting confidentiality and adhering to all privacy legislation
  10. Collaborate and maintain set-up of classroom (e.g. display, organization of materials etc.)
  11. Where applicable, attend staff meetings, appropriate school-level meetings and professional development activities
  12. Perform related administrative functions as required such as attendance and billing in the extended day program
  13. Complete any duties as assigned by principal or ECE Supervisor

 

Additional Responsibilities for Extended day program:

  • Provide supervision and age appropriate programming for children aged 4 to 12 years
  • Perform related administrative functions as required
  • Communicate with parents and school staff as appropriate
  • Facilitate nutrition breaks
  • Complete other related duties as assigned by the principal or ECE Supervisor

 

Rate of Pay for Daily Occasional Supply: $21.23 per hour

 

Rate of Pay (Grid) for Permanent & Long Term in an Assignment 40 consecutive days or more:

$21.23- $27.75 per hour

Schedule and Hours of Work:

Full-time positions:     7 hours/day plus ½ to 1 hour per day unpaid lunch

Part time positions:    3.5 hours/day             

 

Schedules will vary from school to school and will range from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm

RECEs are normally called for assignments that range from a start at 8:00 am to those that end at 6:00 pm

Long Term assignments may include schedules that commence at 7:00 am to 2:30 pm or 10:30 am to 6:00 pm

After-School Program Facilitator for Short Term International Students

General Description of Duties:

After School Program (ASP) Facilitators duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Facilitating and monitoring the ASP delivered at school site
  • Leading, supervising and accompanying students during out-of-school excursions and programs
  • Ensuring students’ safety at all times during the ASP
  • Reporting to Research and Development Office Program Coordinator on a weekly basis to review and assess the effectiveness of the program
  • Working in collaboration with international educators to fully engage students in the participation of the program

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience working with youth of diverse cultural backgrounds, preferably, English Language Learner (ELL) students
  • Previous experience instructing athletic or sporting activities

 

Desirable Assets:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

 

Salary Level or Salary Range Starting At  $ 20.00/hr

 

Hours of Work:  casual supply. The Program will run four (4) days a week: Mon, Wed and Fri for 3 hours a day and Saturdays for approximately 8 to 10 hours from May to June, July to August and September to November every year

 

Location(s): 

  • During weekdays, the ASP will be delivered within WCDSB schools, or at a site/venue in the community such as bowling, skating, museum, etc.
  • On Saturdays, students will visit a well-known Canadian venue such as: CN Tower, Niagara Falls, Canada’s Wonderland and others.

General Description of Duties:

Payroll administrators process payments to employees based on information received by Human Resource Services.  The ideal candidate should be able to problem solve, work as a member of an interdependent team, and provide constructive feedback on processes and systems used by the department.

  • Computerized calculation of pay, deductions and contributions.
  • Calculation of adjustments for paid and unpaid absences.
  • Verify, edit and transmit on-line production reports.
  • Timely remittance of statutory and non-statutory deductions.
  • Familiarity with pension plans.
  • Preparation and verification of all journal entries and cheque requests.
  • Supporting duties ie., responding to employee inquiries and ad hoc reports.
  • Effectively communicate with government agencies, other departments and employees.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Two-year college diploma in business or a related discipline.
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification (Canadian Payroll Association), or in progress.
  • Minimum of two years payroll experience in a computerized payroll environment.
  • Knowledge and ability in a variety of software applications related to payroll.
  • Comprehensive and current knowledge of applicable government legislation and the ability to implement collective agreements, pension plans and all payroll related regulations.
  • Strong communication and analytical ability with excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.

  • Hold a current Certificate of Qualification with the Ontario College of Teachers

  • Have broad teaching experience in various divisions and a variety of settings

.2 FTE Temporary Behaviour Analyst (February 1 – December 18, 2020)

The Behavioural Analyst will be responsible to undertake the following:
• Conduct data driven functional behaviour assessments/analysis
• Administer & interpret level “B” assessment materials (non-diagnostic systems)
• Monitor functional behaviour interventions and data recording systems
• Liaise between home, school, system staff and community (as appropriate)
• Provide clinical consultation to families and staff in conjuction with the Behaviour Team Clinical
Psychologist
• Actively participate as a member of the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Team
• Build capacity by offering professional development to school and system staff
• Perform other duties as assigned

 

Basic Qualifications:
• Masters Degree with specialization in areas such as psychology, science, or other areas deemed equivelant. BCBA designation or the Ontario BACB Alternative Qualifications is required. Consideration will be given for applicants currently in pursuit of BCBA designation. Proof will be required.
• Qualification training level “B” assessment testing materials
• Experience with the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI)
• Experience working with children and youth with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Dual Diagnosis
• Experience with the development of proactive behaviour intervention & modification
• Experience in the scientific field of applied behavioural analysis, behaviour modification & CPS
• Experience with school aged children in an educational setting is essential
• Experience with students with exceptional behavioural challenges & needs
• Must possess excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Hold a current behaviour management systems certificate or equivalent
• Must be proficient in the use of computers and data software
• Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
• Participation in ongoing professional leadership development activities to enhance clinical practice

Desirable Assets:
Familiarity with a wide range of special education services

Salary Range: $11,831 -$18,192 per year based on 194 school days per year and evaluation of years of experience in
accordance with the provisions of the APSSP Collective Agreement.

Supply Custodian

Background:

The WCDSB maintains a pool of Supply Custodians who are called to replace permanent custodians who are absent from work.  A Supply Custodian will work approximately 10 to 40 hours per week Monday to Friday.   Supply Custodians are not assigned to one specific location, our geographic region is within Waterloo Region. A supply custodian position could lead to a permanent custodian position with the Board.

 

Responsibilities:

General Housekeeping Duties

  • Dusting and sanitizing surfaces
  • Wet and dry mopping
  • Polishing and scrubbing floors, operating auto scrubbers and buffers
  • Stripping and re-finishing floor surfaces
  • Garbage and recycle collection and removal (inside and outside)
  • Snow removal, salting and sanding as required for safety
  • Operation of equipment such as snow blowers, floor buffers, auto scrubbers, and vacuum cleaners.

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of the building and grounds in all respects.
  • Perform related duties as required for the daily operations of the site.
  • Assist with arranging physical set up for site rentals, in-school dances and activities
  • Maintenance of Logs and Files.
  • Follow assigned cleaning schedules to maintain expected standards of cleanliness.
  • Follow Board practices, procedures in relation to attendance, health and safety.
  • Co-operates with colleagues, staff and students to assist in creating positive working relationships.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school (grade 12) diploma or GED – (Must provide proof of qualifications)
  • Previous commercial/industrial cleaning experience preferred
  • Basic computer knowledge (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
  • Able to communicate effectively
  • Good attendance record.
  • Must be physically capable to meet the physical demands of the job.
  • The Successful Candidate will be required to produce a satisfactory Criminal Background Check.

 

Salary: $19.58 per hour plus shift premium

General Description of Duties:

Ensure the safety and security of students during the lunch period at Elementary and Secondary Schools.
