WCDSB Schools Raise $23,550 for Ukrainian Relief Efforts

In early March, Waterloo Region’s Catholic schools -- standing in solidarity with the people of Ukraine -- began a campaign to raise funds to assist humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine. While a number of schools sent funds directly to the Canadian Red Cross -- and a number of schools encouraged families to donate privately via the Canadian Red Cross -- a total of 28 WCDSB secondary and elementary schools centrally raised a total of $23,552!

WCDSB Announces Chair’s Award, Community Partner Award and Distinguished Graduate Award Recipients

Each year, the Waterloo Catholic District School Board proudly announces the recipients of three major awards: Chair’s Award, Community Partner Award and Distinguished Graduate Award. This year’s recipients of those respective awards are Jamie Metcalf (Child & Youth Care Worker), the Mental Health and Addiction Nurse (MHAN) Program, and Region of Waterloo Councillor Tom Galloway. The Chair’s Award and Community Partner Award will be presented on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at the annual WCDSB Staff Recognition evening.
