WCDSB Elementary & Secondary Schools Open & Running Normally on December 4, 2019

The Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation (OSSTF) has announced plans for a one-day strike on Wednesday, December 4, 2019. OSSTF does not represent any staff working in our elementary and secondary schools, therefore all Waterloo Catholic District School Board elementary and secondary schools will be open and running on their normal schedules tomorrow. WCDSB teaching staff are represented by the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA), and negotiations with the province are still on-going. We

Waterloo Region, ON – The Board of Trustees of the Waterloo Catholic District School Board has re-elected Cambridge / North Dumfries Trustee Bill Conway as Chair of the Board, and Waterloo / Woolwich / Wellesley Trustee Melanie Van Alphen as Vice-Chair of the Board. St. David Catholic Secondary School Closed Due to Power Outage

December 2, 2019 Due to power outages at the school, St. David Catholic Secondary is closed for the remainder of the day, Monday December 2, 2019. Transportation is being arranged to transport bus students home. We expect busses to be arriving at the school at approx. 9:00. We expect business as usual for tomorrow. Evening Cancellations Due to Weather Conditions

November 11, 2019 Due to deteriorating weather conditions….. All St. Louis Adult & Continuing Education programs scheduled for this evening are cancelled. All after hours community use permits for this evening are cancelled. WCDSB secondary school volleyball championship games have been postponed until tomorrow: TUESDAY November 12 @ St. Benedict CSS All  WCDSB elementary school basketball and volleyball games today are cancelled and will be rescheduled to a later date.

St. John CES School Boundary Review

St. John CES is WCDSB’s fastest growing elementary school. It is one of the largest schools and has one of the smallest sites, at 2.9 acres. The school has a capacity of 502 pupil places and enrolment is currently at 641 students. Enrolment is projected to continue increasing and may reach 886 students by 2024. A request for capital funding to support enrolment growth at this school has been submitted to the Ministry of Education,

Take Our Kids to Work Day

Take Our Kids to Work Day, taking place on Wednesday, November 6th, 2019, is an annual event where students step into their future for a day and get a glimpse into the working world.
