November:
AM: AI/Literacy work – Staff will review and deepen their understanding of WCDSB AI guidelines and resources for teachers, students and parents on when and how to use artificial intelligence at home and in the classroom. Ministry resources will be used to explore literacy (curriculum) through an AI application. *K-2 teachers who have not had the Early Reading Screener- Acadience- training will be doing a session separately.
PM: Anti Racism – This interactive professional development session is designed to support school administrators and staff in deepening their understanding of systemic racism, with a focused lens on anti-Black and anti-Indigenous racism in educational settings. Participants will engage in reflective dialogue, case study analysis, and collaborative problem-solving to identify and challenge oppressive practices within their schools. The session will explore historical and contemporary contexts, amplify voices from affected communities, and provide practical tools for fostering equity, accountability, and culturally responsive leadership. By the end of the session, participants will leave with actionable strategies to create safer, more inclusive learning environments for all students.
