French Immersion Registration

The Lottery Registration for Grade 1 French Immersion will be open from January 2-31st.  Students currently in SK, are eligible to apply for Fall 2026.

The lottery closes on January 31st.

In February, names will be drawn in the following order:

1st draw: Siblings of current FI students. (Siblings must register in the lottery if they wish to be considered.)
2nd draw: Students currently on the roster at a WCDSB school.
3rd draw: Students transferring from another school board.

St Peter, Our Lady of Fatima, Sir Edgar Bauer, St Luke and Holy Rosary have 20 spots each. St Anne (Kitchener) has 40 spots. Students that are not allotted one of the spots, will be automatically placed on the wait list. Students that were not registered in the initial lottery can register for the wait list from February-June.

French Immersion is an optional program that begins in Grade 1.  Limited enrollment is offered at six sites: Our Lady of Fatima (Cambridge), St Peter (Cambridge), St Anne (Kitchener), Sir Edgar Bauer (Waterloo), St Luke (Waterloo), and Holy Rosary (Waterloo). Spots are allocated through a lottery system. The lottery opens when students return from the Christmas break in January and closes on January 31st. Spots are allocated in three phases: First, younger siblings of students that are already in the program; Second, students that are already attending Senior Kindergarten at a WCDSB school; Third, students enrolling from outside the school board.

In elementary school, the subjects taught in French include: FSL, Science and Technology, Social Studies, the Arts, Physical Education and Health.  The subjects taught in English include Language, Math, Religion and Family Life.  For more information you are invited to explore the Parent Information Link, the boundary map, and the transportation links below.
