Staff Supports for Multilingual Language Learners at WCDSB
WCDSB provides specialized staff to support multilingual language learners (MLLs) across both elementary and secondary schools. These educators work collaboratively with classroom teachers, families, and community partners to ensure students receive the language and academic support they need.

- Provide direct support to students through small group or in-class instruction.
- Monitor student progress using the STEP (Steps to English Proficiency) framework.
- Help connect families with school and community resources.
Focus: Support students with English as a Second Language (ESL) and English Literacy Development (ELD) program needs.
Secondary: ML Monitors and ESL/ELD Teachers
