Dear Waterloo Catholic Community,

As we slowly enter into Spring — and we begin to witness the Earth being reborn again — we are also entering into the holiest days of our Catholic Church year.

The past winter has been a long one as we have methodically moved forward out of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Those challenges make the symbolism of Holy Week and the commemoration of the death and Resurrection of Jesus all the more poignant.

For that reason, I wanted to share a brief reflection and a reminder that, as St. John Paul II once said, we are a Resurrection people and Alleluia is our song.

The only path to the joy of Easter Sunday is through our annual Lenten journey and the experience of the sorrow and loss of the crucifixion on Good Friday.

So, as a people of hope we embrace and celebrate our annual journey to the Resurrection.

I want to especially thank all who learn and work and serve our schools for your patience, dedication, resilience, and solidarity as our 2022-23 school year has unfolded.

As we witness the wondrous beauty of nature stirred into new life, we look forward to the conclusion of this school year with hope and joy.

Wishing you a blessed, peaceful, holy, and happy Easter!

Sincerely,

Tyrone Dowling
