School Health Support Services
WCDSB works in partnership with the Waterloo Wellington Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) to coordinate provision of school health support services for students with special needs. School staff are able to make referrals to LHIN to determine eligibility for a range of school health support services in order to provide health care for students so that they may participate at school. The school health support services that may be provided, once eligibility is determined include:
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech Pathology

WCDSB also has a number of Administrative Procedures in place to provide information and protocols for specific health related situations such as Anaphylaxis/Severe Allergic Reaction, Administration of Oral Medication and so on.
These administrative procedures can be located on the WCDSB website in the About Us section of the main website under Policies and Administration or by using the following link https://wcdsb.ca/about-us/policies-and-administrative-procedures/ and then scrolling down to the section titled Administrative Policies and Procedures.
